If you are based in New Zealand and you're heading overseas, you can collect your item duty-free at the airport when you fly out. It works on any purchase, and it's most worthwhile on higher-value pieces.
It's only available for international flights departing New Zealand, not arriving.
Here's how to calculate what the duty free price would be including any airport fees.

This is an estimate. The exact figure varies by airport, and we'll confirm it with you before you go ahead. The saving is largest on higher-value rings. On smaller purchases the airport fee takes up more of it, so it's typically worth it above $2,500.
It's part of the normal process. Just tell us you'd like to make it a duty-free purchase, and we sort the rest.
Tell us your travel plans, with the date your flight is planned.
We make your ring as usual. The only difference is where you pick it up. Reach out as early as you can, and we'll confirm whether your flight date is doable before you commit to the duty-free price.
Collect it at the airport. Your ring is waiting for you airside at your departure airport: Auckland, Christchurch, or Wellington.
Specific instructions on how to collect will be provided, but you generally just need to present your passport at the collection point and they'll hand over the item.
There's an airport collection fee, charged by the airports for facilitating the service, which is built into the estimate below.
You collect your ring from the duty-free collection point at your departure airport, airside, once you're through security.
Can a friend or family member pick the ring up for me? Legally, the person named on the invoice is the one who has to collect it.
Who can use this service? Is it New Zealand citizens only? Anyone with an outbound international flight leaving New Zealand. It's not limited to NZ residents and citizens.
Can I collect duty-free on the way into New Zealand? No. The flight has to be an outbound one, leaving New Zealand to an overseas destination.
Can I avoid the airport fee? No. It's charged by the airport for facilitating the service, and we pass it on to you.
What if I miss my flight? We can arrange for the ring to be held for your next booked flight, or returned to us so you can collect it from the studio, though if you collect it locally rather than flying out, GST applies and the airport will refund the fee.
My flight is very early or very late. Can I still collect? Yes. The collection point is open whenever the airport is open.
I have a connecting flight through Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch Airport. Can I still collect? Yes, as long as your final destination is outside New Zealand and there's enough time to reach the collection point, pick up the ring, and make your connection. Collecting only takes a few minutes.
I'm travelling with my partner and want to keep it a surprise. How do I collect discreetly? Most people find a moment to slip away to the collection point. It only takes a few minutes.
Can I collect the item early, propose, and return it to collect duty-free later? No. The item has to be brand new when it's collected at the airport. You're welcome to view it at the studio beforehand, but we can't send it to you or let you take it from the studio.
Can I collect from Queenstown Airport? Not at the moment. Duty-free collection is available at Auckland, Christchurch, and Wellington only.
Does this work with finance? Yes. If you're financing your ring, you can still collect duty-free. You'll just need to let the finance company know. Read about financing.
