This bridal set features a 1.5 carat round cut solitaire lab grown diamond with six claws on a rose gold band. The wedding band features marquise diamonds right around the wedding ring — also in rose gold.

You will notice that this is a much more yellow version of rose gold. This is because it is 18K rose gold whereas all the other rings have been 14K rose gold.

The rose gold wedding ring sits perfectly flush against the engagement ring. We made sure of it by carefully designing it so that the bands almost lock together.

Will Rose Gold Suit Me?

The answer to this will always be subjective however we do have some general principles when it comes to rose gold, yellow gold and white gold. And it all comes down to your skin tone — or more specifically your undertone.

If you have purple-blue veins you have a cool skin tone. This means you will suit white gold or platinum. If you have olive-green coloured veins then you have a warm undertone. You are more likely to suit yellow and rose gold. And if you have blue and green veins, then you have a neutral undertone and suit both.

Remember, this is just a general principle. The best thing to do is to come into our studio and try some rings on and see which colour ring suits you best.

Is Yellow Gold Better Than Rose Gold?

Yellow gold and rose gold are both forms of gold — and both are strong and durable to be used for the band of your engagement ring. The rose colour in rose gold comes from copper. And as with all jewellery, you will still need to take care of it.

Our jewellers don’t have a preference over using yellow gold or rose gold. It ultimately comes down to a matter of what you like and feel good in.

What Are The Pros And Cons Of A Rose Gold Engagement Ring?

Advantages of rose gold in an engagement ring:

• It doesn’t require rhodium plating every few years like white gold does.

• Goes well with coloured diamonds or gemstones.

The disadvantage of rose gold in an engagement ring:

• Rose gold is not hypoallergenic. This is particularly important for those with sensitive skin and allergic to copper.

• They may not suit all skin tones. But this will ultimately come down to preference.

• Copper oxidises over time leaving the rose gold slightly darker and “redder”. Might be problematic for designers that have a very specific rose gold colour that they like.

Does rose gold look good with a halo engagement ring?

Regardless of the engagement band colour, we believe that rose gold looks great with a halo engagement ring. The most common halo or hidden halo engagement rings that feature rose gold feature an oval centre stone. We have also done halos for round diamond solitaire engagement rings in rose gold.
